Misbah ul Haq also the Head Coach for Islamabad United
The
head coach and Chief selector of Pakistan's Misbah-ul-Haq cricket team has
signed an agreement with Pakistan Super League (PSL 2020) franchise Islamabad
United.
The
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already allowed Misbah to work in the PSL.
However, being a coach, Misbah can no longer join the franchise as a player but can be part of the management or coaching staff. According to reports,
Misbah has reached an agreement with the franchise, but the responsibilities he
will assume are not yet clear.
Under
Misbah's leadership, Islamabad United won the first edition of the PSL season.
After being associated with Islamabad United for three years, Misbah then
served Peshawar Zalmi as a player and mentor at the last edition.
Earlier,
Misbah had defended his decision to be part of the PSL while being part of the
national team. "If you are dishonest, you can do any wrongdoing if you
wish, but if we see positively that if you engage in PSL, you can closely
monitor all players, some play with you, others play against you".
The
CCP announced on Wednesday that former Pakistan captain Misbah had been
selected as head coach of Pakistan's men's team in all three formats, as well
as the national head team for a three-year contract.
