Steve Smith Made Unique Record in Ashes History
Steve
Smith has been in spectacular form since returning to Test cricket after a
one-year suspension due to a ball-tampering scandal. He began his third double
century in the ashes to guide Australia towards an impressive first-round
Total. Smith then set a record in the history of the ashes.
The
Australian batsman left where he stopped during the second test and was not
Concerned about the events taking place around him. Smith was in his element
from the start and, except for Archer's return in the second half of the day
and the half-chance of the end of the match, he later offered England nothing.
Steve
Smith beat the bat to a whole new level and rightly took top spot in Virat
Kohli's Test standings. The former Australian skipper scored 211 points while
his team scored 497 before qualifying in the first rounds. Smith became the
second batsman to score four centuries against England and surpassed the record
of Garry Sobers and Steve Waugh.
The
30-year-old also became the second-fastest to mark 26 centuries of existence
After Don Bradman. Smith overtook Sachin Tendulkar for second place. Meanwhile,
Steve Smith became the second Australian after Allan Border to score 500 or
more points in the ashes' consecutive series in England.
Smith
Reached that milestone after adding 122 runs in the fourth ash test. In the
first two matches of the Ashes series 2019, he totaled 378 points. The whole world bowed to
its greatness as Smith showed the embodiment of coherence.
The
middle-rate batsman came back with a bang in the first test of the ashes
marking two centuries in the tests. He added another 92 attempts before getting
a neck injury and ruled him out of the second and third innings. And now Steve
Smith has made another heroic comeback as Australia look to win an Ashes series
for the first time in England since 2001.
