Two Children Electrocuted While Playing Cricket
In
an unfortunate incident in Nana Chiloda of Ahmedabad, two children, Ankit
Sharma, 5, and Vijay Gopal Thakor, 8, were electrocuted while playing cricket.
Both children were seriously injured after hitting a power pole. The tragic
incident occurred on Monday, with the two children lost their lives after being
badly burned.
They
were taken to a civilian hospital but were pronounced dead after a brief period
of treatment. Police sources said the boys were playing cricket with their
friends when they accidentally hit a power pole and were electrocuted.
"The
other boys playing with them informed their parents, who took them to the
civilian hospital. They were treated for a while, but suffered severe burns and
died around 6 p.m.," said police.
According
to police, at 4.35pm the civilian hospital learned that two children had been
brought in with severe burns. Police also described the horrific incident that
claimed two lives.
"We
went to the hospital and talked to their loved ones. They said the boys played
cricket with their friends. While Ankit accidentally hit the bar and suffered a
shock, Vijay also went there to retrieve the ball. Both fell unconscious at the
scene".
Police
officials said they sent the bodies after the accident. Families will receive
the bodies only after the completion of the medical procedure.
"The
bodies will be handed over to the families on Tuesday morning. We have recorded
an accidental death and are investigating the reasons for the death."
