Bumrah Did Some Magic with the Ball
West
Indies captain Jason Holder praised India's Jasprit Bumrah after his stunning
journey on the fourth day of the Antigua Test. The West Indies had no chance of
getting close to the 419-point target, let alone chasing her as Bumrah spat the
fire. Bumrah completely dismantled the West Indies stick with figures of 5 for
7 out of 8 and competed for only 100.
The
West Indies players seemed distraught as Bumrah exchanged the ball violently.
Half of the West Indies team was back in the hut with only 15 points on the
board. At fifty, they were nine. However, thanks to a 50-point showdown between
the last two teams, Miguel Cummins and Kemar Roach, the West Indies managed to
reach the three-figure mark.

The end of the game, Jason Holder, congratulated Bumrah. The West Indies general
said that Bumrah had "played magic balls".
"Today,
Bumrah threw some magic balls, and he had some of our batsmen with perfect
balls. We must find ways. He's a quality pitcher, but there's a solution,"
Holder told reporters at a conference after the game.
Holder
also praised Ishant Sharma and Mohammad Shami, who supported Bumrah very well
and scalped three and two wickets, respectively.
"They
Played well. Bumrah threw an exceptional spell, Ishant also supported a lot, as
did Shami. I want those spells where the opposition gets to the top and stays
at the top. We've seen that happen all over the world," Holder added.
Holder
admitted that the team had been reduced by a few points, having scored only 222
in the first innings, while India had 297 points in its first round.
"We
Missed several points, and I think the wicket was perfect for the stick. In the
initial phase, when the ball is new, it is difficult as a batsman to support,
but after that, it becomes easy. We didn't get enough points in that
game," Holder said.
The
West Indies will now face India in the second Test of the series at Sabina Park
in Kingston from August 30.
