Sohail Tanvir Eyes on T20 World Cup 2020
Versatile
player Sohail Tanvir has promised to deliver goods to Pakistan if the PCB gives
him a chance to compete in next year's T20 World Cup 2020. He also declared
himself perfectly fit to play a longer version of the game.
"I
was labeled as only suitable for a shorter version of the game. I had only
played two Tests and both against India in New Delhi and Kolkata in 2007. I
took five wickets and 3 for 83 were my best numbers. But after that, I was
never given the chance to prove that I was complete. I've played only 62
Internationals One Day in such a long career and taken 71 wickets including 5 best
for 48 and if I look at my international career in The T20.
I
played in 57 International T20 and I took 54 wickets including 3 against 12 was
my best. I played 70 first-class matches and took 307 wickets including 8 for
54 as best figures. I also played 134 List-A matches and took 202 gates and 7
against 54, which gave me the best performance to date, when I had already
played 320 T20 matches worldwide and collected 326 wickets including 6 for 14,
which was my best in the Indian PremierLeague. "
"People
think I play in leagues of different countries to raise money, but that's not
the reality. The fact is that I had very few opportunities to represent the
national team. My performance is more than enough to prove my worth and pretend
that I am a complete package, but the PCB and selectors had limited my role
primarily to T20 Internationals.
I
played a crucial role in helping the Pakistan cricket team win both leather and
bottom matches. I have always been selected to play in-depth and my record is
more than enough to show that I have always contributed and not only restricted
the opponent but also taken important wickets. I have no choice but to play in
the major leagues such as Pakistan SuperLeague and continue to prove that I still have a lot of cricket left.
He
added that he could still play for Pakistan for at least another two or three
years. Its goal is next year's T20 World Cup, as it is only envisaged for the
shorter format. He said he would prove his skills in the next national season
to be able to call on the national team. He stated that he had asked the PCB to
consider him for the Australian series in the UAE before the World Cup, but
that his request had fallen on deaf ears.

seriously believe that after Muhammad Aamir and Wahab Riaz have exchanged one
day and decided to withdraw from the cricket test, I can fill that void by
having spent long periods in domestic cricket and I am in perfect shape. No one
can deny the importance of the presence of senior players in national teams.
If
we look at Australia, South Africa, England, India, and all the other major
cricketing countries, they depend solely on their senior players. But here in
Pakistan, opportunities for senior players are very limited and they are forced
to retire. "
"The
new general manager, Wasim Khan, who is also a first-class player and who
arrived in Pakistan with a huge reputation, promised to do justice to all
players who had been mistreated in the past. I put high hopes in Waism and PCB.
I will try to meet with MD as soon as possible and plead my case. I am sure
that he will not only listen to my real grievances but also try to answer them.
I
think Pakistan urgently need slot players in the game line-up, who could ensure
consistent results. I want to serve Pakistan cricket as much as I can. It now
depends on the PCB and MD on how it fulfills its commitments and promises to do
justice to senior players like me, who had been poorly ignored in the past,"
