Harbhajan Singh and Adam Gilchrist engage in a Twitter war
India's
off-spinner Harbhajan Singh was the first Indian bowler to take a Test
hat-trick, taking wickets from Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, and Shane Warne.
Eighteen years after the incident at Eden Gardens, Bhajji and Gilchrist are
engaged in a battle of words on Twitter.
It
all started when Jaspreet Bumrah became the third Indian to record a hat-trick
during the second Test against West Indies at Sabina Park. The umpire did not
give his hat-trick delivery, but THE DRS overturned the original decision.
After
Bumrah's historic achievement, videos of Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan's
related hat-tricks began to circulate on social media. Former
wicketkeeper-baller over Harbhajan's hat-trick video "NO DRS" "
tweeted. Sad emoticons followed his tweet.
Gilchrist
was the second person to be LBW out, but replays revealed that the inside was
the edge. The Australian left-handed batsman had to go back to the pavilion
because there was no Decision Review System (DRS) in those days.
Harbhajan Replies to Adam Gilchrist
"If
you don't think the first ball will you survive longer? Stop crying at these
things dude. So you'll talk wisely after your game days. But some things never
change; the primary example is this. Always cry (sociable). " However, the
39-year-old later deleted the tweet.
