PCB to Organize Festival T20 Match in AJK
The
Cricket Commission of Pakistan (PCB) is organising a T20 festival match in
Muzaffarabad - the capital of Azad Kashmir - on Pakistan's 54th Defence Day. The
match will open its season and take place on 6 September at Muzaffarabad
Cricket Stadium.
The initiative aims to promote cricket in the region, as the venue has been chosen
to host national matches under the new system. Pakistani captain Sarfraz Ahmed
and former test team captain Azhar Ali will lead both sides, respectively
President XI of the PAC President and President XI of the Prime Minister of the
AJK.
Local
cricketers include many stars, including Abid Ali, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali,
Bilal Asif, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Rahat Ali, Sarfaraz
Ahmed, Shan Masood and Usman Shinwari, will also be on the bill. Former captain
Misbah-ul-Haq and MP Ali Amin Gandapur will also take part in the festival
match.
